It’s that time of the week again to look at what fun things there are to do over the weekend here in Chicago. It’s also that time of year where we are not sure what kind of weather we are going to get. There are drastically different weather forecasts out there for the weekend right now. On Saturday the temperature is forecasted to range from 50 degrees to 80 degrees. Here’s hoping it is the 80 temp that we get.
Chicago Cubs are out of town this weekend but the Chicago White sox are hosting the Toronto Blue Jays. Games are Friday, 7:10 pm, Saturday, 1:10 pm and Sunday 1:10 pm.
The Lincoln Park 2019 Wine Festival is going on this weekend.
This fest starts Friday evening from 6pm to 10pm, Saturday 12 pm to 4 pm and then again from 6pm to 9 pm and Sunday from 12pm to 4pm. Take a look at the link – depending on day and time you go the prices vary from $20 to $75 each. I am going to check out this fest – seems like a ton of fun and i love a good glass of wine!
To start out festival season we have Mayfest going on this weekend from Friday to Sunday.
Located at 3100 N. Ashland in Chicago, this festival has an awesome live music lineup with the main stage being set up under a big top tent. There will be lots of food, drinks and live music to keep you entertained all weekend long.
The Night Nation Run is being held at Soldier Field in Chicago on Saturday, May 18th.
This is a 5K Fun Run and Music Festival. How fun! There will be live Dj’s, light shows and so much more as you run (or walk) along the Chicago lakefront Pre party begins at 6:30pm. First wave of the run/walk will start at 8pm. After all the exercise is done there will be a post party with a surprise DJ to finish things up. Who doesn’t enjoy and evening down by the lake (even if you have to do a little exercise LOL)
For the shoppers out there, the Covet Spring Market will be taking place on Sunday, May 19th.
It runs from 10am to 5pm on Sunday. This is a market full of local artist, craftsman and small businesses. This takes place in a really fun area of chicago – Fulton Market. You will find a vast array of product here including jewelry, clothing, crafts and so much more. This is held quarterly and i am hoping to check this out this year because who doesn’t love a good shopping day (said no man ever)!
Other then the Wine Festival I will be filling my weekend with yard work. I got most of my flowers planted last weekend and my mini greenhouse set up. This weekend will be finishing flowers and maybe tackling the bushes i need to plant. Whatever your plans are for the weekend i hope you enjoy!
