Last week was so cold, all of Chicago was frozen. If you were one of the brave souls out there that attempted to go to work, it was a ghost town. In true Chicago fashion, by the end of the week we were in the 50’s and feeling spring fever. The groundhog did not see his shadow, so we are headed for an early spring.
With all of that being said, I am still on my personal journey of living healthier, losing weight, and generally just becoming comfortable in my own skin. I started doing a 30 day yoga challenge. You can find it on Amazon Prime-30 Days of Yoga To A New You. Yoga is one of my favorite forms of exercise. After a stressful day of work, kids, husband- all pulling at me, these 20 minutes to myself are wonderful. I have been finding that I truly only need a little bit of time to get into a peaceful place. That is what I am concentrating on lately, carving out some me time. A lot of people take those 20 minutes for granted. Don’t! They are essential for our well being.
Although it is still the heart of winter and we do have a long road to go until spring weather is upon us, I am trying to enjoy this time also. Self Care is so important during these months, so I have been doing lots of face masks, making sure I have lotion for my hands at all times, drinking lots of green tea, and making wonderful comfort food for me and my boys.
So while we are still in the tight grip of winter, grab your favorite blanket, read a new book cozied up in your favorite spot and soak it all up. Find the beauty in this season, before you head to the next!
