Christmas Decorating, Cozy Home, Decorating, Home

Tis the Season

The wonderful day of Thanksgiving is over,  where all we have to do is spend time with loved ones and eat!  Well at least if you are not the one hosting!  Now we move into the hectic holiday season and it starts with the decorating.  Living in Chicago we always look for a nice day to get the outdoor decorating done.  With a winter storm due on Sunday evening I decided to take advantage of the beautiful 40 degrees we have today and I got about half my outdoor decorations done today.

I am still looking for some pre-lit wreaths for the front of the house and was looking at some of these.

Next I will be getting the indoor decorations done.  This always takes a little more time as some furniture has to be moved around.  I have a small house so I have a skinny tree that fits into a small corner.    I also use Christmas candles in different areas of the room to give off more lights and I have Christmas flowers that I put battery operated lights into.   This helps me to take advantage of all the small areas of my house.

I love when you turn off all the lights and turn on all the Christmas lights and light the candles.  Such a calming feeling and a perfect way to unwind and relax at the end of the night.

I know today is Small Business Saturday.  If you don’t have time to get out to the actual store Amazon has some great deals with small businesses.   It’s a great way to do small business shopping.

I also found another site that has a lot of small businesses on it and has some pretty neat  ides for your home.

Check it out you might find something unique for a gift or for your decorating!

If you are spending your day shopping or decorating or just relaxing I hope you are enjoying it.  As we get into the busy hustle and bustle of the holiday season it is important to make your home cozy for yourself and family to decompress after all the shopping and parties.  Check back with us often for new ideas.
